It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas...

I have been meaning to post this since before Dec 1st but I have just now gotten my pictures uploaded. Andy got all of my Christmas stuff out of the attic and I started decorating the weekend before Thanksgiving since I wanted to get to enjoy it a whole month before taking it down. Here are some pics of the house decorated... what can I say I am a Christmas person!!

And Outdoors

(some close-ups just clink on the pictures to make larger)

I am so happy with how my outside looks this year compared to last year, it might have something to do with my mom giving me some of her old stuff. Maybe it is just the memories that I have associated with them. I am LOVING my Santa and candles by the walkway I bought them at Canton this year.

Favorite Holiday Treat...

Texas Gold-Bars!!!
I wanted to give everyone the recipe because they are SO Easy and SO Good.  For Christmas I like to give my neighbors something edible and this year this is what they will be receiving.
Ingredients you will need...
  • 1 Yellow cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 bag of powered sugar
  • vanilla extract
  • 2 packages of cream cheese
Mix 1 box of yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter (1/2 cup) melted and 1 egg beaten
Press the mix in a greased pan
Mix 2 eggs beaten, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 packages 8oz cream cheese softened, and 16oz powered sugar

Our Anniversary Weekend...

On our actual anniversary which was on Tuesday Nov 25 Andy and I went to the Mavericks game and dinner down in Victory Plaza. He also sent me the beautiful roses below :)

We had such a great Holiday weekend, on Thursday we made our way down to my parents where we had a GREAT thanksgiving lunch with my parents and grandparents. We really remembered what we were thankful for.... On Friday Andy went to the deer lease with his dad and my mom, Me-maw and I made our way through the cold and rain to Canton.

On Sat night is when we decided to celebrate our Anniversary we went to the Westin in Frisco where we did some Christmas shopping at Stonebrier and then went to dinner and a movie. We loved just getting to spend time together.

Happy Thanksgiving

I wanted to take a quick minute and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving please remember the real reason for this holiday season and what you are truly thankful for.

I thought I would also include a few fun Thanksgiving facts enjoy...
  • The annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade tradition began in the 1920's.

  • Turkey is the traditional dish for the Thanksgiving feast. In the US, about 280 million turkeys are sold for the Thanksgiving celebrations. There is no official reason or declaration for the use of turkey. They just happened to be the most plentiful meat available at the time of the first Thanksgiving in 1621, starting the tradition, 91% of Americans eat turkey on Thanksgiving Day.

  • More than 40 million green bean casseroles are served on Thanksgiving.

  • The First Thanksgiving lasted for three days.

  • Turkeys can drown if they look up when it's raining!
  • The average person consumes 4,500 calories on Thanksgiving Day.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

The Texas Stampede

Andy and I went to the rodeo this past Sunday. We always have such a good time when we get to go unfortunatly there was no band playing on Sunday :(

After leaving the rodeo we went to visit our friends Brad and Felicia at the hosptial who had just welcomed their 1st baby, Noah Edwin. CONGRATS GUYS :) I was too busy holding the little guy to get pics. I will get some next time I visit!!!

Our next stop was our favorite place to eat Scalinis MMMM SO GOOD!!! Pizza and Lemondrop Martinis what could be better ??

This rodeo clown cracked me up :)
This part of the rodeo makes me SO sad... Andy thinks it is silly that I get so upset over it. Poor baby cow!!!

I HEART Chuck Bass...

Gossip Girl is one of my new favorite guilty pleasures... I LOVE how they worked this song into the promo very fitting :) Can't wait for tonight!!!

**Andy and I had such a great Sunday at the TX Stampede pics to come soon.

WOO-HOO!!!

This is what I saw when I drove up to Wal-Mart to get gas last night, can you believe it?? I kept getting so excited seeing at seeing the prices fall that Andy told me to take a picture if I ever saw it below $2 because it wouldn't last long. Well maybe it won't but it defiantly didn't take away from my excitement at that moment :) Here it is babe... this picture is for you!!
I actually paid $1.96 because of my Wal-Mart Card so it cost me a little over $20 to fill up my car.... WAY better than $40.
UPDATE** 11-9-08 - Gas is actually cheaper now at $1.89 :)

First Post...

Well, here goes.... I have been meaning to start a blog for a while now. I thought it would be a great way for our family and friends to keep up with us. My goal is to at least write one entry a week. Hopefully that will work...

I wanted to be able to remember different things that happen to Andy and I... trips, home projects, even funny things that happen during the week. The reason for this?? Well we have been married almost 2 years and I can't believe how quick the time has passed!! I swear it is just like I blinked and another year is almost gone. I think it will be amazing to be able to look back one day and reminisce on all of the good times. :)

This picture is of Andy and I and was taken at Six Flags when he was 5 and I was 3, do you see the resemblance?? Aren't we cute... Speaking of time flying I can't believe that was 23 years ago!! Some background for those of you that don't "really" know us. Andy and I have known each other since 1985, we grew up down the street from each other about 100 yards away we went to the same school. We eventually came back together in 2003 and I actually asked him out, I wasn't going to let him get away. Our parents still live in the same houses we grew up in, which makes visiting them really easy :)
